R.O.E.

R.O.E. [ Rules of Engagement]

  1. Have fun!
  2. Play fair!
  3. Keep vulgar language or obscene language to a minimum! Not all players are of a mature age, and we MUST respect the right of any person out there to enjoy this form of entertainment without such corruption. It is a foregone conclusion that the game contains certain vulgarity to keep the adult appeal, but that does not permit clan members to openly use harsh language. This rule is somewhat flexible, but repeated and continued violation will result in court martial, or “trial by combat”.
  4. Treat enemy fallen with dignity. Any activities such as “tea bagging”, bad mouthing, unmerited kick/ban, or taunting other players over records or statistics will not be tolerated, and may result in temporary server bans or being expunged from the clan. The AI, or computer generated “terrorists”, are the exception to this rule. Some show boating is allowed but should be to confined to overkill, and even then if witnessed repeatedly will be grounds for court martial.
  5. Respect other clan members. If you don’t like them, mute them. No refusal to play with other clan members will be allowed. Everyone in the clan has a right to play, and if they have done something to so insult (or annoy) you that you wish not to play with them, bring it to the team leader’s attention. In turn the team leaders will bring it to the attention of the clan founders and a vote will be taken among senior members as to the status, punishment (if any),  or other disciplinary actions that will be taken against the offending member.
  6. Respect other players. We do not discriminate against any other Xbox Live player based around age, Internet connection speeds (insofar as this aspect does not inhibit team play on an ongoing basis), abilities, rank, statistics, or dress appearance. If other players (not clan members) openly disrespect you (or otherwise seriously annoy) you leave the game, or in RARE cases bring it to the clan leaders to evoke the right of “trial by combat”.
  7. Observe your position, and respect the judgment of the recognized team leader. If you are a point man, work with the team until such time as the team leader unleashes you. If you are a supporting role, wait until the team leader calls for covering fire, or to assault a position before you “go rambo”. If you are a flank or rear guard, do not ignore your duties to the team. Failure to do so comprimises the team objectives, and is considered bad form. Repeated offenses may be grounds for court martial, or “trial by combat”. Understand that the team leader can call for modified R.O.E., and indicate to you that the team is “free fire”, at which point no holds are barred. Certain maps may also be declared no holds barred, but please respect the judgment of the team lead.
  8. Observe the R.O.E., and chosen strategy/tactic. This rule is at the heart of our clan. While perhaps not THE most important, as all rules are important, this rule is critical. You will be “field tested” and given an assigned role. Roles are listed here on the clan site, and should be carefully observed. When you are given a role (even if you don’t really like it) you are expected to uphold it. If you do not like that role to the point it displeases you, then bring it to the attention of the team leader and the group will decide on a worthy compromise. Such compromises may be “revolving roles” where even though you are designated as one role, you may operate within another role so long as your team agrees, and the other member replacing you is competent in that role. Remember, sometimes you are given a role because the team thinks you are the best among them at that role, so respect them by taking pride in it!
  9. Observe the clan’s desire to have play time. Participate often enough in clan related gaming activities to remain active duty, or risk being pushed to “inactive” status, and having restricted rights. If you no longer wish to participate in the clan, you may not quit. Membership is permanent. You may however simply refuse to join, be pushed to inactive status, or more appropriately request to have your membership name moved to “retired status”. When possible make personal concessions so that other clan members may have play time. If members are engaged in “Terrorist Hunt” games, and the game is full, start a new game with other members, or your own game. If you really want to play with that player then simply request in open chat to be messaged when the slots open up. It is up to individual members to give up their connection slot to other clan members if it suites them, and in such cases please message that player to inform them or ask that the team send them an invitation to join.
  10. NO BAD FEELINGS! If you don’t like the way something is going, tell a leader, and changes will be made. If that leader fails to recognize your complaint then contact a founding member and a determination on further action will be made based upon merit. Open arguing or disrespecting other members (or Xbox Live players) will NOT be tolerated. Such behavior may be grounds for kick/ban or being expunged from the clan.
  11. Respect the channel! (Most commonly violated rule). Keep idle chatter to a minimum! If  you have to speak to someone in real life, cover/mute your microphone, or tilt it up so that others don’t have to listen. Do NOT yell with your mic on, and keep your mic tilted up just above your mouth so everyone doesn’t hear heavy breathing all the time. Observe this rule and others will have a LOT more respect for you than if you are the mad elite.
